And here the positive news from Ghent University:
This October the first Green Office in Belgium will be established at Ghent University under the name Duurzaamheidskantoor. The proposal has been approved, the office can start with 30.000 EUR funding a year and the search for a full time staff member is in progress.
For the moment there are already three students working under the umbrella of the Green Office on different sustainability projects and there’s money for three students more. A forth student is on her/his way to complete the team.
Until October, we will have already done quite some work.: We are for instance supporting the “Days Without Meat”-campaign by a promotional video and comic cards collection. For the launch of the Green Office we plan a pop-up office that will move between the different faculties, spreading sustainable thinking throughout the whole university. We work out an art tour along the university buildings during the climate top in December, etc.
We are all eager to prepare our university and students for the challenges of the future. Please click here to read more about the sustainability policy of Ghent University.
